I'm currently working on a cosplay and its a gender bend, I feel its a lot harder then I thought it was. I'm making a male/Mikuo version of "Hatsune Miku, Synchronicity". Its a very giant cosplay with some details, and lots of grand tailoring and sewing skills needed for it.
I did use Sunday and Monday on sketching the ideas for the bend and late last night I did get done and happy with the result. So I'm currently now doing the illustration part and fabric choices. I under the sketching and idea thinking I did thought a lot about what I was comfortable with wearing and what I could adapt to male version of.
So I have adapted the skirt to a sleeveless coat with big flare out from the male waist/hips/where often males have their pants. This will be in pleather/faux leather or velvet, not totally decided.
The silver corset looking part will be a male corset, and I will use silver pleather/faux leather. with suspenders on.
Instead of using boxers I will make bikershorts looking kneepants and I will make a cloth (that are attached to the shirt) with the print on infront of my crotch and down to the knees.
The high heel boots have I adapted to platform boots that I will make myself and will be in pleather/faux leather. And they are going to be something like Len Synchronicity (version) boots and like other Vocaloid cosplay shoes. They will have turquoise/light blue lacing and a stripe down the back.
The mask is going to be just like the original and I will make it out of bandage plaster, because its the easiest way, will fit my face and I can do it myself.
This is my plan, idea and designs so far, will soon post photos of sketches and illustrations. This is my ideas on the gender bend, not anyone elses. I have myself sat down sketching and got inspired by cosplay photos, the music video and artwork of Hatsune Miku Synchronicity / Female version.
